I applaud the people and leaders of Spain.

I dont mean to play devil's advocate on this at all bc I could care less who marries who or who sleeps with who but I do want to point out that the United States as a governing body will never pass a bill/amendment to legalize nor forbid a couple to marry whether it be homosexual ot heterosexual in nature. You can thank the 10th Amendment for providing Powers to the State.

If you support or are against gay marriage you may want to contact the State government officials.

Gay marriage is pretty low on my list of world concerns right now, but more power to those who've been wanting this. To each their own. Don't think it'll be happening in the States for quite some time, though.

This really shouldn't be about what the minority looks like today...cuz tommorrow...it will be different...and about different people...and about different things.

The strength of a democracy has and will always be judged by how it treats it's minorities.

Keep that in mind brave thinkers, for tommorrow...the fight may not be about our color, sex, sexual preference or hair color...it may be, instead, about your future...as dictated to by a company scientist as seen on a petri dish.

Now...

Well, since this thread is about gay people being allowed to form legally recognized stable monogamous relationships, this isn't really relevant, unless you were trying to say gay marriage would be a better alternative, which indeed it would be -- but that's true for monogamy and STDs in general, it has nothing to do with hetero or homosexuality. Promiscuity promotes STDs, stable monogamous relationships don't. Marriage should always be encouraged by people interested in public health...

The whole idea that marriages have to be licenced rather than simply registered... talk about obnoxious government intrusion into people's personal lives...
